Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Fort Lauderdale
7:00AM, before the heat. The dog has already done a lap of the yard, and the coffee is on the patio. Nobody had to find a kennel or leave a friend with the neighbors. A trip with the dog is a different trip, and the right house is what makes it work. Four of our houses in Fort Lauderdale and beyond take pets. Each one has its own rules, so check them below before you book.

The houses
Mangrove Manor: sleeps 10
- 4 bedrooms, 3 baths. Rebuilt in 2026.
- Beds: a king, two queens, a room with two XL twins that convert to a king, and a sofa bed.
- Oversized pool, a separate hot tub and a grill.
- Up to two pets, each under 25 lbs, with approval.
- 4-night minimum. The person who books must stay at the house.
- Minutes from Wilton Drive and the beach.
- Check-in 4:00PM, checkout 11:00AM.
The Fairway: sleeps 8
- 4 bedrooms, 2 baths.
- Beds: a king, two queens and a full.
- Heated private pool with loungers and umbrellas.
- Turf backyard with a putting green, a fire pit, an outdoor shower and a pond.
- Pets are welcome. About 5 minutes from the airport.
- 2-night minimum.
- Check-in 4:00PM, checkout 10:00AM.
Pompano Bungalow: sleeps 7
- 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a queen in each room.
- The backyard is large and fenced, with a patio and a grill. It's the one to pick if your dog likes to run.
- No pool.
- 5 minutes from the beach and the Fisher Family Pier. Shops and restaurants are close enough to walk.
- Pets with approval, and a pet fee applies.
- Quiet hours start at 10:00PM. The neighbors live there full time.
- Check-in 4:00PM, checkout 11:00AM.
EV Retreat: sleeps 4
- 2 bedrooms, 1 bath.
- Beds: a queen, a room with two singles, and a sofa bed.
- The backyard is large and private, with a stock tank pool, a cedar barrel sauna, a cold plunge, a two-hole putting green, hammocks and a covered porch.
- Pets with approval, and a pet fee applies. Any damage from a pet is charged separately.
- Riverside Park neighborhood, close to the New River and downtown.
- Check-in 4:00PM, checkout 11:00AM.
How to bring a pet
- Tell us when you book. Every house except The Fairway needs approval first. Mention the size and breed of your pet so we can say yes quickly.
- Expect a pet fee. It's added to the booking. The amount depends on the house.
- Mind the size limits. Mangrove Manor takes up to two pets, each under 25 lbs.
- Only these four. Our other houses don't take pets, and some sit in condo buildings that ban them. A pet brought to one of them without approval can end the stay.
Dogs in South Florida
- Walk early or late. By midday, pavement and sand get hot enough to burn paws. Before 9:00AM and after sunset are the comfortable hours.
- Watch for cane toads. They come out at night, especially after rain, and they're toxic to dogs. If your dog mouths one, rinse its mouth with water and call a vet straight away.
- Pompano has a dog beach. Wags & Waves Dog Beach is at the SE 2nd Street beach access. It runs on set days and the hours change with the season, so check the city's parks page before you go.
- So does Fort Lauderdale. Canine Beach is on A1A, just north of Sunrise Boulevard. It opens on set days and needs a city permit, with proof of vaccination for each dog.
